My name is Allison Teeples, and I am the sole owner and artist at Amby Driemer Handmade. I have been making art of one form or another since I was very young. I enjoy creating all sorts of things, however my favorite medium is fiber. I am quite fortunate to live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, where I am surrounded by incredibly talented artists of all kinds. The inspiration is overwhelming!

 

I spend most of my spare time weaving on rigid heddle and floor looms, as well as spinning fiber to make yarn. I enjoy teaching weaving classes and doing private lessons, as well. I am member of both the Heritage Weavers and Fiber Artists (Historic Johnson Family Farm Hendersonville, NC) and the Western North Carolina Fibers/Handweavers Guild.

Amby Driemer, my professional moniker, is a play on the words ambitious and dreamer. It's more than just the name of my business - it is my path to success. Without dreams, we have no direction. Without any ambition, we cannot realize our dreams.
