Rigid Heddle Weaving
​
​Discover Rigid Heddle Weaving (1/2 day)​​​. This course was designed for the rigid heddle "curious". Sit down to a rigid heddle loom that is warped and ready for weaving two handwoven mug rugs.
Beginner Rigid Heddle Weaving (2 days). Designed for the aspiring rigid heddle weaver, or experienced weavers looking for a refresher. Participants will learn the essentials of rigid heddle weaving: rigid heddle loom parts, basic weaving terminology, project design, direct warping, basic weaving techniques, and hemstitching. Students will complete a sampler or table runner during the course.

Color and Weave (2 days). This course explores color theory and basic color and weave design. Students will learn to incorporate color patterning in the warp and weft, combined with plain weave, to design and finish a handwoven project. This course is suitable for the weaver with some experience warping and weaving on the rigid heddle loom.

Double Weave on the Rigid Heddle (2 days). Many things are possible with double weave on the rigid heddle loom! Learn how weave double-layered cloth, double-width cloth, and tubular weave. If you purchased a small loom but wish to double your weaving width, this course is for you! Students will learn how to warp the rigid heddle loom for double weave and complete a sampler. The course concludes with a discussion about possible designs for future projects with these techniques.

Floor Loom Weaving

Beginner Floor Loom Weaving (4 days). Participants in this 4-day course will learn about weaving tools and parts of the floor loom, project design, how to make a warp, dress a floor loom, and will complete a handwoven project. Appropriate for new weavers and those needing a refresher.
